It’s been 5 years since The Shins last released an album. Sure, front-man James mercer was kind enough to give us Broken Bells during that time, but that was merely an offering to hold us over. Now, as The Shins prepare to release Port Of Morrow in March, we have their first single for you – “Simple Song”…

Most bands don’t last 15 minutes, let alone 15 years. Then again, most bands aren’t Chevelle. The hard-rockers recently released their 6th album Hats Off To The Bull, and they were kind enough to stop by to talk with us about it.

This band is pretty cool, and not just because they’re from Iceland. Folky, fun, and definitely catchy, “Little Talks” by Of Monsters And Men is this week’s ‘Sink Or Swim’…

If rock stars are supposed to be all about sex, drugs, and rock n’ roll, Switchfoot didn’t get the memo. These dudes are cool, down to earth, and some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. They stopped by our studios for an interview, so we grabbed a camera to film a few of their answers…

Foster The People, Grouplove, and Young The Giant all burst on the scene, while Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, and Coldplay added more awesome songs to their already crowded catalogues. All-in-all, 2011 delivered some of the best music we’ve had in years. Here are some of the songs we’ll remember long after the calendar turns… (more…)

If you ever get the chance to hang out with The Dirty Heads, we highly recommend it. They’re really nice dudes, with great senses of humor, and lots of funny stories to tell. Case in point, during a recent interview we asked them if they had any good holiday stories to share. Well, they gave us a good one, but the suits at our company said it was too crude and vulgar to be played on the air!!

I hate going out in the cold. During December, I’m often huddled by a heater, patiently counting down the days until spring. It takes a lot to entice me from my lair, but the lure of The Shins led me to Hollywood on a chilly winter’s night.

It’s been five years since the release of their last album, Wincing The Night Away; seven years since Natalie Portman proclaimed The Shins would “change your life”. Why she’s never said that about me, I don’t know. But I digress…
