2011 is in the books, and with it goes some amazing music. Blink 182 and Bush both returned with a vengeance, while Sublime With Rome carried on 15 years after their original singer’s death. The Airborne Toxic Event, Florence + The Machine, and Cage The Elephant proved that bands don’t have to have a sophomore slump. Foster The People, Grouplove, and Young The Giant all burst on the scene, while Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Incubus, and Coldplay added more awesome songs to their already crowded catalogues. All-in-all, 2011 delivered some of the best music we’ve had in years. Here are some of the songs we’ll remember long after the calendar turns… (more…)
If you ever get the chance to hang out with The Dirty Heads, we highly recommend it. They’re really nice dudes, with great senses of humor, and lots of funny stories to tell. Nope, Death Cab For Cutie have discovered the true secret to eternal youth – dancing! Watch the video for their new song “Stay Young, Go Dancing” after the jump:
Foo Fighters always manage to have a good sense of humor, even when protesters are picketing outside of their concert. The Westboro Baptist Church, known for their hatred of homosexuals, soldiers, and just about everything in society, decided to protest the Foos show in Kansas City. Rather than fighting anger with anger, Dave Grohl and company found a better way to fight back…
Watching someone risk their life is always exciting, but when they do it on video and use the song “Sail” by AWOLNATION as the backing music, that makes it even cooler! Check out the amazing footage after the jump…
Out Of Order has been on the air for over 15 years now, which is pretty damn impressive if we do say so ourselves. Want to know the secrets to our success? Poise, professionalism, and moments like these…
There are so many labels you can put on bands these days – hark rock, indie, electronic - the list goes on and on. Still, even with all these sub-genres, it’s sometimes difficult to express exactly what a band sounds like. That’s the case for The Fling, a new group coming out of Long Beach, CA. If you wanted to call them folk or Americana, that’d be ok. With their Beatles like harmonies, an argument could be made for a 60′s pop type of label. However you want to describe them, one thing is for sure – this is a talented group of musicians who are clearly on the rise…
